NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer is my holy grail. I will never use any other concealer unless it is a corrector or highlighter for my under eye bags. I love this concealer because you can use it anywhere on your face to cover anything, plus this comes in various shades to suit any skin type. You could even buy two shades to mix them depending on the color and coverage you need! I use the color "Medium 1 Custard". It covers everything I need. I wouldn't say it's high coverage, but it's definitely medium-high depending on how many layers you put on. This is great on its own, but I find that when wearing foundation underneath, it really helps it last longer. This might only be a problem for me and others with oily skin, but it just doesn't stay put the same way if I were to wear it alone. When I wear it alone, I tend to prime, conceal, then powder. I don't know why the longevity gets cut off when I don't use foundation beforehand, but it's fine because most of the time, I would prefer to wear foundation underneath to even out my complexion.
I use this concealer to conceal my under eye bags, redness, blemishes, and even to highlight my brows. After I've filled in my brows, I tend to use this concealer just to cover up any sloppiness that went into shading them.

This concealer is pretty expensive for $29—by the time you've "used up all the product" and it seems like you can't get anything else out of it, just you wait. You do not have to toss out the entire tube because there IS a way to get out the remaining product. Trust me, the remaining product is about half of what comes in the tube. In the next half of this post, I will write about my secret tip that I have not found anyone on the internet talk about this. When I first got this concealer, I searched all over for people's tips on how to get the most of the product, but I found nothing. I've been waiting so long to finally get to share this tip with everyone who uses this concealer!

The photo above is the "before" picture of the NARS concealer. It is a brand new tube, and as you can see, there are five ridges at the top of the tube. The one closest to the top where the doe-foot applicator pops out is the one we are going to focus on. It's called a "stopper" which prevents excess product from coming out when you're applying your concealer. But what happens when you run out of product and the stopper is preventing anything from getting on the doe-foot applicator? We remove the stopper.
It is very easy to remove the stopper. I usually use a regular kitchen knife. Take the pointed tip of the knife and wedge it between the bottom of the stopper. The stopper is a separate piece that will just pop off like a cork wedged in a bottle of wine.

This is the "after" photo and as you can see from my labelling, the fifth ridge, the stopper, is no longer there. Now there are only four ridges. You can see how the concealer wand starts to get messy, but you can just use a brush to wipe it off and apply it directly to your face. This is the best way to get the most out of your NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer.

I've seen so many beauty bloggers toss their concealer away because they just couldn't get anymore product out of it, but this way will ensure that you are getting your money's worth. I've been through a couple of these tubes already, and after using them on a daily basis, I can safely say that this will last you about a year if you use this solely for concealing purposes only and not slathering the entire tube on your face. The previous tubes I've had lasted me a little over a year.
The current tube I am using (the "after" photo" was purchased last summer around July/August 2014. It is the end of August 2015 and I am about finished with all the product left in the tube. I can probably go a week more with it before I start using my new tube.

This is the best discovery I have made when it comes to getting the most out of a beauty product, and I really hope that this will help people to use up all the concealer in the tube. :)

Also, I should let you guys know that this will probably be the last post for at least a couple weeks. This semester has already started, and I have exams and quizzes due already! It's insane how crazy fast the semesters are when you're in college. Life just passes by so quickly. I promise that my next post will be my overdue Sephora haul, and hopefully my favorite bronzer :)

  4. Your post literally saved my day. I leave to go on vacation tomorrow and I just don't have time today to go out to sephora and get a new concealer. At least now my concealer will last me until I get back. Thank you for this post!!! I accidentally pushed my stopper inside of the tube so hopefully it won't affect it too much lol
